ALIGNED CURRICULUM
At AACA, our faculty uses the process of curriculum mapping to craft a teaching plan for the year. This process involves the creation of a comprehensive set of units for every subject within every grade level, so that there is a seamless progression from the first day of preschool through the last day of eighth grade. Teachers engage in the mapping process each year to ensure that at each grade level, goals for learning are clearly defined, and to create a scaffold for students from grade level to grade level for both content and skills.
This process also "maps" the increase in rigor of learning from grade to grade so that over ten years, students evolve into competent and confident scholars, ready for the rigor of high school and beyond.
